Welcome to
the KOLA morning show online...
What's
the
8/1
– Wow I cannot believe it is August already. At least it is
finally starting to cool down. With
nothing at all really on TV I started going through my DVD
collection. I pulled out the first season of HBO’s Deadwood.
That is a good show right there. I never caught it when it
started. The third season has just started on HBO but I
can’t watch a show if I haven’t seen it from the
beginning. Looks like I have a few more DVD’s to get. I
have been working long and hard on my “Baby Suri”
look-a-like. I have the “tighty whities” and a pair of
sunglasses. That’s it is “Risky business Suri” Hope to
see you out in the parking lot at 8am on Friday. 7/26
– I am so happy to be back. I spent a few days in June Lake
and a few days in Denver. It was a lot of fun but I missed
Brian, Dave, Fran and all the KOLA Nuts. Has
it been hot enough for you? Don’t you hate people who ask
that? My air conditioning has been on for 3 straight days. I
do not see me turning it off anytime soon. I would love to
“flex my power” but lets be honest, I haven’t been to
the gym in years. So
with all the heat I am still not riding a bike to work. Though
my car with no air conditioning and broken windows isn’t a
cool way around town either. If you see a car dripping oil and
sweat driving down the road….get
out of my way…. I think my brakes are shot too. 6/20
– What a great weekend. Starting with a turnaround trip to
Vegas Friday night and wrapping up the weekend a California
Speedway with the Racing
Experience. There is nothing like driving a car at 165mph
with 7 other cars on the track. A must for any fan of NASCAR
or anyone who has ever seen a car. So
I decided to save myself about $2 last week by changing my own
oil. That will never happen again. Let me start off by saying
I have had over 100 successful oil changes in my life. Well
this one didn’t go quite as well. I came home from Vegas to
a Garage full of oil. I am losing more than a quart a day. If
you can think of a good place to start send me an Email Shaggy@KOLAFM.com. So coincidently enough a friend at work suggested we ride bikes to work(He lives down the street from me). So as I am writing this I looked at Mapquest. My house is exactly 7 miles from the radio station. The 7 miles to the station do not concern me too much, they are down hill. It is the way home that is straight up hill that concerns me. Needless to say I will be the one leaving the oil slick with my car as I go to work in the morning.
6/15
– Exciting day at “Chateau Shaggy”, I had the carpet
cleaned. I learned 2 lessons today. 1 Plan better and earlier
when you have to move every piece of furnature you own out on
the lawn. 2 Plan for some sort of entertainment, since you
have no tv and a black couch outside is not fun to sleep on.
Now that I look at it, I guess I learned 4 things. I miss good TV. I know that sounds funny, but it is true. It hurts me to come home and TIVO has nothing for me. I know she tries her best, but I feel a little let down. Though I did watch the “Hell’s Kitchen”. That looks like it could be an interesting show. As always if there is any good TV I am missing let me know about it. Send me an Email to Shaggy@KOLAFM.com. So with all these
empty hours in my life without good TV, you would think I
would finally go to the gym. Note I only said I miss “good
TV”. There are hours and hours of bad TV I am more than
willing to watch. Did you see Sylvia Brown on Montel……Oh……My……God Shaggy’s thought for the day: Shaggy’s thought for the day is on sabbatical until I find more thoughts in my head or until I figure out what sabbatical means. 6/12
– Wow, what a great weekend. Hope you had a great one also.
I started my weekend at the Grand Terrace Fire Department
Pancake Breakfast. What is it about Firemen that give them the
power to make the worlds greatest pancakes? There
is still not a lot of great TV out right now. Tonight I will
give “Hells Kitchen” a shot. If there is any good TV you
are watching let me know about it. Send me an Email to Shaggy@KOLAFM.com.
I hate missing good TV. I
still have not made it to the gym. I am thinking… if there
was a gym in my backyard I might go. I need some sort of gym
that I can connect to the chair in front of my TV. Shaggy’s thought for the day: Why do some products claim to be a limited edition? Correct me if I am wrong. Isn’t everything technically “limited”? 5/25 – Hope you have some great plans for the holiday weekend. I will be out at Tom’s Farms in San Bernardino this Saturday. Then it is straight out to the river. So this is the tough time of year for me. All the good TV has ended. Taylor is an Idol, Jack and Kate are still on the island(if it is an island), and Jack Bauer is on a freighter to China. See you all in the Fall. With
all this extra time in my life, I think I might start going to
the gym…. Nevermind there is always something good on
somewhere. Shaggy’s thought for the day: Everybody looks at the man holding a sign on the street corner screaming at the top of his lungs and says “ Wow, that guy is crazy”. What if everyone else is really crazy….. and he is the only sane person around. Crazy is all about perception. 5/10 – what a day. I am I constant preparation for the big event Friday morning “Saggy drowned alive…in beer”. There is going to be a big trial run in Thursday morning so I hope all goes well. Wednesday
that means American Idol again. Who is going home tonight?
Even with the big case of “McFeever” I have, we may be
seeing the last of the lovely Kat tonight. Then again, not
much else will matter tonight because of Lost. Could you
believe that last week? So many questions I have. But,
questions seem to be everywhere…. Did you notice the title
of tonight’s episode??????? Back
to training. Keep listening for all the details about “Saggy
drowned alive…in beer”. And make plans to come down to the
KOLA studio Friday to watch it live. We will have gas
giveaways, bagels and coffee for you Have a great day and remember: Everybody has a lot of things going on at once. Next time you are in a hurry, don’t forget everyone around you is too
5/9
– Not much of a weekend
for me this week. I spent most of the time helping a friend
move. I watched a bit of Nascar and a real bad Lakers game. I
kept saying if Kobe would pass the ball and score less than 40
points a game they could win. But, nobody listens to a guy
names Shaggy. Tuesday
that means American Idol. The weeks get less and less fun
because it is always someone really good who has to go home.
Don’t forget bird flu on ABC at 8 tonight. I think I found
the cure…. Just change the channel Watching
David Blane live in a bubble of water this past week inspired
be to try to break a record of my own. Friday in the KOLA
parking lot I will break the record for snorkeling under beer.
It is “Shaggy drowned alive…in beer” keep listening for
more details. Have a great day and remember: Smile more. People just don’t smile enough anymore
I
will be watching Prison Break and 24, as I do every Monday night.
Prison Break started so great and has been unwatchable in recent
weeks. 24 is always strong, and this is a good time to start watching. I
have found out I need to lose at least 5-lbs before next Monday. Most
of the time in this world you can get by with being a pound or two
overweight. In this case I will have a member of the Canadian
skydiving team strapped to my back as I hurdle myself out of a
perfectly good airplane next Monday. Carrots wont kill me exceeding my
harness weight limit could hurt. Have a great day and remember: If someone is stressing you out, close your eyes and count to 10. Odds are the person will think you are crazy and just walk away.
